This text will be replaced

Description
Camera pans around from the orange soil sample to reveal the edge of Shorty crater - a steep sided rubble filled impact crater. The audio ground to air banter records the crew chatting to Capcom Robert Parker. At the far right of the pan the shot picks up on Gene Cernan standing on the edge of the crater taking the panorama picture sequence.

Background to Apollo 17:
Apollo 17 was the eleventh manned space mission in the NASA Apollo program. It was the first night launch and the sixth and final lunar landing mission of the Apollo program.
