Description
Extraction of the Lunar Module from the upper stage of the Saturn V. The shot starts with a view of the Earth from high orbit. Debris can be seen tumbling past from the recent detaching of the Command and Service Modules. The view comes to rest facing the top of the Lunar Module as the two spacecraft approach each other and make a hard dock.

Historic Context of Clip
Background to Apollo 11:
The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo programs, and the third human voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin.

to Moon:
The Apollo 11 spacecraft entered Earth orbit 12 minutes after lift off. After one and a half orbits, the S-IVB third-stage engine pushed the spacecraft onto its trajectory toward the Moon with the Trans Lunar Injection burn.
