Description
Looking down from the LEM window onto the lunar surface Neil Armstrong is seen carrying out his first activities on the Moon's surface at Tranquility base. His PLSS backpack and pressure suit and gold visor are clearly visible as he unhooks a tether and steps back out onto the surface to lower down equipment. Buzz Aldrin's head and shoulders, also inside his pressure suit, can be glimpsed in the reflection in the window as he goes about his checks and keeps a watch over Neil. Buzz leans in and adjusts the camera re-positioning it at the end of the clip before the film runs out.

Historic Context of Clip
Background to Apollo 11:
The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo programs, and the third human voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin.

Walk:
At 2:56 UTC on July 21, Armstrong made his descent to the Moon's surface and spoke his famous line "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind" exactly six and a half hours after landing. Aldrin joined him, saying, "Beautiful. Beautiful. Magnificent desolation". Then for two-and-a-half hours, they took notes, photographed what they saw, and drilled core samples.
