Apollo 16 LEM Undocking  (FTV-0002344)
Loading the video player...

Description
Undocking and initial flight of the Lunar Module Orion as it starts its descent to the Moon. Spectacular close up shots as the insect-like LEM pulls away from the Command Module and yaws over whilst still quite close to the camera - providing a good clear view of the Mylar gold foil covering the descent stage and the landing gear. Great detail of the hatch, and ladder are also visible, the rungs on the ladder and other parts of the landing gear catching the sunlight and sparkling brightly.
