Description
View of the lunar surface from high orbit on board the Command Module. Thirty-three seconds into the clip is a glimpse of a crescent Earth - and towards the end of the clip on the right hand side of the frame the end of the communications boom can be seen.

Background to Apollo 16:
Apollo 16 was the tenth manned mission in the Apollo program and the fifth mission to land on the Moon. John Young and Charlie Duke spent three days exploring the Decartes Highlands with the Lunar Rover, returning 95.71kg of samples to Earth, whilst Ken Mattingly conducted experiments and observations from lunar orbit.
