Description
Commander Dave Scott works at the front of the rover - collecting and stowing a gnomon. The view of the rover with Jim Irwin sitting on it is reflected in his gold visor. Dave's still camera mounted on his chest is clearly visible, as is his map noting the planned route to drive - hanging from the front of his suit, which is covered in dirt. His PLSS (personal life support system) back pack is also clearly visible.

Historic Context of Clip
Background to Apollo 15:
Apollo 15 was the ninth manned mission in the Apollo program and the fourth mission to land on the Moon. It was the first of what were termed J missions, long duration stays on the Moon with a greater focus on science than had been possible on previous missions. Dave Scott and Jim Irwin spent three days exploring the Hadley Delta region with the first Lunar Rover, returning 77kg of samples to Earth.
