Description
Very clear view of the Apollo 16 Command and Service Modules slowly rotating in front of the camera on board the LEM. The side panel of the instrument bay on the Service Module is open revealing an array of instruments which have been used to observe the Moon. The lunar terrain passes below in this spectacular view.

Background to Apollo 16:
Apollo 16 was the tenth manned mission in the Apollo program and the fifth mission to land on the Moon. John Young and Charlie Duke spent three days exploring the Decartes Highlands with the Lunar Rover, returning 95.71kg of samples to Earth, whilst Ken Mattingly conducted experiments and observations from lunar orbit.
