Description
Continuing from clip FTV-0002374 this footage follows the progress of their drive across the Descartes Highlands - across craters and over boulders. At two minutes and 22 seconds into the clip the Rover stops and John Young appears at the front to retrieve a paint brush from one of the storage boxes. Charlie Duke appears at the right of frame and John carefully dusts off the front lens of his chest mounted stills camera before the pair part again.

Historic Context of Clip
Background to Apollo 16:
Apollo 16 was the tenth manned mission in the Apollo program and the fifth mission to land on the Moon. John Young and Charlie Duke spent three days exploring the Decartes Highlands with the Lunar Rover, returning 95.71kg of samples to Earth, whilst Ken Mattingly conducted experiments and observations from lunar orbit.
