Description
"OK Neil, we can see you coming down the ladder now", states Capcom Bruce McCandless, as the shadowy figure of Neil Armstrong is seen dropping down from the last rung of the ladder and onto the LEM pad. Neil replies. "OK I just checked getting back up to that first step. It's not collapsed too far but it's a pretty good job". He continues "I'm at the foot of the ladder, the LEM footpads are only depressed in the surface about one or two inches, although the surface appears to be very very fine grained. It's almost like a powder. It's very fine. OK I'm going to step off the LEM now. That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for Mankind.

Historic Context of Clip
Background to Apollo 11:
The Apollo 11 mission was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was the fifth human spaceflight of the Apollo programs, and the third human voyage to the moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin.

Walk:
At 2:56 UTC on July 21, Armstrong made his descent to the Moon's surface and spoke his famous line "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind" exactly six and a half hours after landing. Aldrin joined him, saying, "Beautiful. Beautiful. Magnificent desolation". Then for two-and-a-half hours, they took notes, photographed what they saw, and drilled core samples.
